It is about food again! Am I going to turn this blog into a food blog? I am not picky in food and I like to taste new food. But sometimes I do criticise what I eat because I have a tongue that can taste food in detail! Today I have my dinner at Tomi Japanese Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant located in Ipoh. Here we go!

Tomi Japanese Restaurant

The Menu
Let see what food I have tasted for the night……

Ala Carte
Chawanmushi (steamed egg) – kind of watery.
Cheese Korokke (cheese and mashed potato blended together to fry) – it was more like fried potato. Hardly can taste the taste of the cheese.
Cucumber (cucumber, eel, prawn meat, and fish roe rolled together) – this dish is a bit special. You may want to try it.
Age Gyoza (chicken dumplings) – it was juicy. But the taste is not compatible to the chicken gyoza from Zanmai Sushi.
Miso Soup – it was an ordinary miso soup. Every customer get this for free (free green tea too).

Grill Food
Yaki Tori (grilled chicken) and Tori Kawa (grilled chicken skin) – light taste for both.

Tempura
Ebi-ten (prawn tempura) and Yasai-ten (vegetables tempura) – ordinary tempura that you can eat in every Japanese restaurant.

Noodles
Tempura Udon (Udon with fried prawn and fried vegetables) – I didn’t get to taste this. The eater told me it tasted normal, nothing special.
Tori Yaki Ramen (fried ramen with chicken) – I didn’t get to taste this too. The eater told me it tasted below average and tasted a bit sour because of the vinegar added.
Kaisen Yaki Ramen (fried ramen with seafood) – it was sour! The more you eat, the more sour it tastes! It was because of the vinegar added too.

Bento
Unagi Bento (eel), Shake Bento (salmon), Tori Teriyaki Bento (chicken), and Saba Bento (mackerel) – all bento came with chawanmushi, rice, 2 slices of raw salmon, 2 slices of raw white tuna, and 2 slices of fruit.
My Review (5 points as full):
Environment and settings (2.5): The furniture arrangement was not well organized, not full used of the space. There were few flies in the shop during my visit.
Services (2.0): Because of the poor furniture arrangement, waiters cannot reach certain places to serve food to the customer. We have to pass the food from 1 person to another until it reached the person who ordered the food. Besides, the waiters didn’t clean all the plates after we have finished our meals. They only cleaned few plates and left most of the plates on the table. Slow food serving also a problem. Age gyoza came after 1.5 hours passed. 2 bento didn’t come after 1.5 hours passed that is why you can see in the above photo, the 2 bento were packed and taken away home to eat.
Food (3.0): Some food tasted average, some below average, and some tasted light. Overall, it was a bit below average.
Price (3.5): All those food cost around RM200 in total. Just avarage.
