Only Child

For those who study psychology, you would be familiar with Alfred Adler.

I kind of agree on Adler’s view on the birth order: only child.

The only child means the child has no other sibling in the family.

The only child may portraits certain typical characteristics:

1. Pampered and spoiled
2. Always want to be in the center of attention
3. Self-centered
4. May refuse to cooperate
5. Relies on service from others rather than his/her own effort
6. Feels being treated unfairly when people doesn’t obey his/her order

I am not trying to say that the only child has no positive characteristics but only negative characteristics.

Just that I saw all those typical negative characteristics on a particular only child.

That particular only child that I got contacted to was so rude. Talked and behaved rudely to adults.

I wouldn’t blame that only child because I suppose it was the parenting problems. It is the parents’ fault for unable to teach their child to behave well.

Although I said I wouldn’t blame that only child, but that kid’s attitude really made me felt annoying. Luckily I have high level of patience.

My trip with that only child was so annoying!

Journey to the North

Ipoh –> Langkawi –> Perlis –> Kedah –> Penang –> Ipoh

I am back from my 1 week trip to the North!

Langkawi
I went there for the LIMA 2009. The aerospace exhibition was below expectation. The maritime exhibition was not bad because I like those yachts! Someday when I am rich, I am going to get myself a yacht to sail on sea.

Beaches in Langkawi were not that nice. I guess most of the ocean in Malaysia got polluted. I like the Tasik Dayang Bunting. It is a Geoforest Park. The view there was nice! I was like in the nature embrace! A lot of monkeys too. A lot!!! Those monkeys are friendly.

Took cable car in Oriental Village to go high up the Gunung Machincang. This cable car has been certified by Malaysian Book of Records as The Longest Free Span Single Rope Cable Car (919.5m) in the world! The view up there was so amazing! I like the hanging bridge! When the wind blew strongly, the bridge was shaking! It was so cool!

Perlis
Do you know that Perlis is the hottest province in Malaysia? When I was there, it was almost 34 degree celcius! It was so hot until I got sun burned and my skin peeled! My skin is recovering now but still looks terrible.

The sugarcane plantations in Chuping were amazing! Large scale of that! It is own by FELDA (Federal Land Development Authority). Whole piece of the land covered in green, nice!

Kedah
Muzium Padi – all about padi. The interesting part was that there was a painting on the wall showing the padi farm in Kedah. Those paintings look real!

I went to the birth place of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and also Rumah Merdeka which Tunku Abdul Rahman always been there whenever he returned to Kedah.

Penang
Toy Museum – to preserve the museum, I think they should renovate it. The museum looks to me like going to collapse at anytime. I have many toys too. Maybe someday I can have my own tiny toy museum too. Lol!

The grand opening of the octagonal pavilion of the Goddess of Mercy at Penang Kek Lok Si temple was on 6th of December. I was there on 11th of December. If my trip was earlier, I won’t get to see the huge statue if the Goddess of Mercy and the nice pavilion!

Out of Town

I am going out of town, to take a look around.

Confirmed places of visiting: Langkawi and Penang.

Will visit other places too but not sure of where yet.

Guess I will be back in 1 week, then you will know where have I been.

First stop: Langkawi – Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2009

PJ -> Ipoh -> SMI

I have officially graduated on 9th August 2009! I am still arranging those photo taken during my convocation and will post it here as soon as possible. So, be patient

While you are waiting for that, here are some quick updates of mine. People around me keep asking what I am doing now. I am procrastinating! Wuahaha!!! Let me show to you what I have done for today.

After my convocation, I stayed in PJ and busy with some “after-convocation stuffs”. I have to attend an event tonight in Ipoh so I have to head back to my hometown.

Heading back to Ipoh in the afternoon with the hot sun!

1 word for the driver, cool!

1 of the best Jasmine Tea in town! Best to quench my thirst!

Still on highway. Hello Ipoh~

Here goes the event that I mentioned about – Musical drama (The Warlord of Terror) in St. Michael’s Institution (SMI). SMI will have drama every year to raise the school fund. The Warlord of Terror is the 57th drama production of SMI! Can you imagine how successful it is?

I was once a SMI student (ex-michaelian). I was once in the drama production but I didn’t get to get on stage due to some sad incident. My siblings kept bugging me to go so I just followed. How come they were so supportive? Not because I am an ex-michaelian but simply because they are michaelians!

The drama stopped halfway to have a 15 minutes break for everyone. What? A break? In the middle of the drama? =_=''' I went out of the hall to see what happened. There were people out there selling food and beverages. SMI definitely knows how to make money.

Too many people cough in the hall. I felt uneasy so I put on the mask to protect myself. I easily fall ill and always unlucky. Just to protect myself from getting AH1N1

After the drama I walked to Royal Ipoh Club to have meal. It is located opposite the school, just a short walking distance.
The environment and live band performance is much better than the performance in school just now.
Wait a minute. I guess I shouldn’t compare school to club

Hmm... What to eat?

That’s my day! From PJ drove to Ipoh to attend the musical drama.
If it is not for the musical drama, I guess I would still be in PJ.
I like to watch stage performances. But for the musical drama above, it was kind of disappointing.

Vatican City

Angels & Demons

The plot of Angels & Demons is nice. It is about a harvard symbologist tries to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist act against the Vatican. Besides the plot, shooting locations in Vatican city are very nice. If there is a chance, I will pay a visit to Vatican city. Here are some photos of Vatican City attractions:
